Dignity Speech Services will provide high-quality person-centered therapy in the comfort of your own home.  The continuation of skilled therapy at home is critical in maximizing outcomes, reducing hospitalizations, and improving quality of life. 
Our mission is to support clients and their families in their own environment by rehabilitating or enhancing their communication, cognition, and swallowing abilities through a highly customized outpatient therapy program.

 

Meet Your Therapist

JANICE T. BUZIAK-SMITH, MS CCC-SLP
OWNER/SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Originally from Western NY, Janice received both her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from the SUNY College at Fredonia before settling in Boston, MA in 2006.  She has 15+ years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a variety of adult settings, including skilled nursing, acute and long-term acute care,  hospitals, outpatient, and home health.

Her passion for promoting client happiness and quality of life by taking the time to listen to her client’s concerns and goals serves as the base of her service model. Treatment plans and recommendations are highly personal and meaningful, using standardized tests and evidence-based practice techniques to help clients meet their goals. 

Janice is licensed in the State of Massachusetts and holds certification from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA).  She is also certified in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association and is a recipient of an ASHA Award for Continuing Education (ACE) for over-achievement in clinical learning. 


She is a Certified Dementia Care Specialist (CDCS) and is certified in the dysphagia treatments of VitalStim (NMES) and the McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program (MDTP).

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, running, reading, and enjoying all the city has to offer.
